Fed up with your indigestion.

Double the trouble
Once upon a time during a time that actually isn’t that long ago, girls used to cherish their sleepovers more. Snuggled underneath our mounds of blankets and pillows, we’d be talking late into the night, sometimes lasting till early morning.
What used to be done solely for UBE (ultimate bonding experiences) has mostly become occasions to crash or make takas for a night out. No wonder it feels easier to make friends when we were younger! Real conversations have been replaced by a flurry of “OMG, i’ve missed you” or “Take a shot!” - two things of which I’m guilty of btw.
So last Wednesday night Mej and I decided to reclaim the innocence of our high school days. Yes, we did go out (because that’s what young adults do these days), but afterwards we stayed up talking till 4:30 am. It was an act that echoed our youth but it was obvious that we’ve grown up so much since then.
The same way twins have some cosmic connection perhaps bestfriends with the same birthday are inborn with a mutual understanding as well. Although its prevented fights it’s easily taken for granted, which explains why we haven’t had a bonding session like this in a long time. We may not resent each other for it (which is great), but this was long over due and honestly it felt great.
So because over time our innocence can be taken away by change and circumstance, when you’re older, wiser, and a little less trusting of the world and the people in it what you come to cherish is not the sleepover itself, but the real friends who are still around to do that with.
